Happy Canada Day!!

Hey! I found the internet again! Mom's computer wouldn't let me log on to do a post so this just may be a long one :)
It's been HOT HOT HOT here in Ontario. Tuesday and Wednesday the temperature soared to over 32 degrees! Of course tuesday was the day that Marci, Mom and I chose to go to St. Jacobs mennonite market and shop. Marci left kalen with the babysitter so we only had Dyson to look after, but man it was hot. We lasted in the outdoor vendors for about an hour then went into the airconditioned buildings for the rest of the day. I got my REAL dark maple syrup to take back with me and enough to last at least the year. Mmmmmmmm.
Jax has learned to deal with the heat. It took, oh, about an hour for him to figure out how to get in and out of mom's pool. Now whenever he starts to get too hot he just goes for a dip. He's a little bit more hyper than mom and Copper are used to. Dad's fat dog sweats just watching Jax run around playing ball for hours every day. My old boss from the lab kennels "Joan" came to meet my "kid" and marci's kids too.
The past two days I've been in Toronto. Mom, Dad and I went to see the show "We will Rock you" at the Canon Theatre downtown on Thursday night. It was a play that used music by Queen to tell their story. Then yesterday I met my highschool friend Andrea at her house in Toronto. We talked for over 4 hours catching up, then decided we'd better do something with the day and took the double decker bus tour around the city. I've never really been to Toronto as a tourist so there were a lot of things that I hadn't seen before. Vancouver's a much prettier city though...and with the bestest tourguides in the world! Andrea is an understudy for the play "Evil Dead, the Musical" so dad and I got tickets to see it last night. It was really funny, but unfortunately she didn't get a part for the night. So that's my plays for the year :)
Gotta run, going to work with dad today.

Hi from Shelburne

Jax and I made it to Shelburne alright on Wednesday. It was a really long day, we got up at 5:30 am, fed ourselves, walked Jax and got to the airport just before 8 am. The staff were really nice to Jax and let me take him out to stretch his legs for an hour before the baggage guy came to get him. I was a little worried but I think he handled the whole thing really well.
We got to Toronto 15 minutes early but of course the traffic on the highways was really bad and Ben and Dad were about 15 minutes late getting there. It gave me time to get Jax out of the crate and let him stretch his legs some before the car ride.
First we went to Marci's to meet Dyson and play with my 18mo old nephew Kalen. Like most newborns he's kinda red and splotchy, sleeps a lot and doesn't do too much. Kalen was having fun playing musical instruments and getting my dad to dance for him. He's definitely getting more personality...and has learned the word "NO". Watch out Marci.
We got to mom's house before dark so I let Jax explore a bit and tried to give Copper a chance to get used to him. It didn't go very well. Copper was barking up a storm and ended up going back to the city with dad for the rest of the week. We'll try to reintroduce them this weekend when there's more time.
Yesterday was just a bit of a resting day and we met Marci and the kids for breakfast. They came to play here for a while but the weather is a bit chilly for any swimming. I'll try to post some pics when I get some good ones.

Busy Busy Day

YAY... summer holidays start today!!! Today was my last official day of work so from here on in I will just be doing an hour here and there from home. Yay. Strangely I also feel a bit sad, I really did like all of my clients that I've worked with for years now. I guess that's normal though...my hormones just won't let me keep things uncomplicated!

To add to todays drama... Marci (my sister) had her baby this morning at 6:30 am. Of course my mother thought I should know right away so the phone was ringing at 3:30 in the morning and woke me with a start. I didn't get back to sleep for about an hour... don't worry, I didn't fall asleep on anyone today. It's a 7 pound, 12 ounce baby boy who they've named Dyson. Someone told me it's a brand of vacuum cleaner :) And I even get to meet my new little nephew when I go to Ontario next week.

It's not over yet... When I got home from work, my dog Jax was not on his leash in the yard! I freaked out. I started calling around to see if he'd been picked up or found but had no luck. I drove to some of our favourite spots in the neighbourhood but still had no luck. After about half an hour, my roomie/brother-in-law Kert called me and said Jax was back. Our neighbour had taken him with the family on a car ride (which Jax loves) and didn't expect me to have gotten home from work so early so he didn't leave a note. Whew. I'm really glad they give him so much attention and even happier that he is home safe... my fragile emotions just can't deal with that kind of stress!

I know I haven't written for a week or so, but my mind was on the prize... the last day of work. Now I'm looking forward to long walks by the beach, getting some craft projects done, shopping for and planning the nursery and getting enough sleep. Drop a line anytime!

Lookout Reunion

Wednesday last week was my last day at my clinic so fittingly some friends and I decided to celebrate over ice cream. What was really neat about it is that my good friend Peter was back for the week from teaching in England and was able to meet up with us too. So Rhondi, Steph, Mayumi, Peter and I enjoyed some ice cream and decided that dinner was in order too. Rhondi couldn't make it but the 4 of us headed over to the Mongolie grill to continue our reminiscence of
Above: Peter and Mayumi at dinner. Below: Me and Steph pose the good old days when we all worked together at the Vancouver Lookout. Well, one thing lead to another and before we knew it we were headed to the Harbour Centre to visit our old hideout. We managed to get in for free (whew!) and I never would have believed the welcome we received from the new staff. It was like we were long lost heroes returned from the dead!! They kept asking us what we had said about such and such on our tours and Steph even remembered the number for the revolving restaurant!! A lot has changed. The cappuccino bar has been revamped into a gift shop. The movie theatre where we always caught people making out in the dark was bulldozed. Even the carpets are different! Whoa, I can't believe I had so much fun going back after 5 years.

Last Day at Clinic!!

Wednesday was my last ever day at West 4th Chiropractic Clinic. It was definitely bittersweet... its really hard to say goodbye to all my awesome clients there and to Sue and Derek the best Chiros ever. But I am SSSSOOOOO happy to reduce my hours and not have to commute an hour each way right now. And just 2 more weeks of corporate work until I head to Ontario and visit the ontario crew for a couple of weeks. Yay!! Summer off! Well, there's lots of work to do with renos downstairs, preparing the nursery and Jeanine's wedding coming up quickly.
To my fantastic clients at W4th... thanks so much for making my experience there for the past 3 years such a positive one. You're the best massagees in the world.
